Statement
I prefer to paint and draw Chicago area scenes. The lakefront, the west loop and Oak Park are my three favorite venues.
I prefer to work with Sennelier pastels although I occasionally will use Schminke or Daler-Rowney. In addition to landscapes, I draw and paint from the model regularly. At one time, I painted portraits in oil or pastel on commission.
My landscapes are done on location, then, I will use the location work as a source for new paintings in the studio. I don't work from photographs but will use photography as an aid in composition.
